Many carers experience conflicts in their everyday work that they need to manage. When conflicts escalate, suitable measures should be taken as quickly as possible to mitigate or defuse the situation. In this seminar, our carers learn and practice dealing with crisis situations, develop strategies for violence prevention in their area of work, and implement them. The objective of this event is to achieve a higher level of sensitivity and professional competence in handling violence, minimising the risk of aggression-related mental and physical injuries.

The care of patients from different cultures requires specific knowledge about cultural differences as well as sensitivity, tolerance and empathy in order to enable patient-centred care for these individuals. In this way, misunderstandings in care that are due to cultural differences, issues regarding patient safety and unnecessary friction in the workflow can be avoided or at least reduced. Intercultural competence is also needed to achieve good collaboration within the team. With colleagues from other countries who are working in the German healthcare system, there are often misunderstandings that are due to language or cultural differences, unnecessary irritations and incorrect mutual expectations.
