The aim is to maintain and promote the competencies of the patients.

Cultural sensitivity in patient/guest care and within the team

Content

The care of patients from different cultures demands specific knowledge about cultural differences, as well as sensitivity, tolerance and empathy, enabling patient-centred care. This is the only way to avoid or at least reduce cultural misunderstandings in the provision of care, problems concerning patient safety, and unnecessary friction in the process. Intercultural competence is also required to create good team dynamics. Colleagues from other countries who work in German healthcare often face linguistic or culturally-related misunderstandings, unnecessary irritations and false mutual expectations. Here as well, it's crucial to find satisfactory common ground in professional action when dealing with different views and behaviors and to resolve conflicts positively.

Topics

  • Access barriers in healthcare
  • Cultural perspectives on health and illness
  • Structural differences: education, professional image of health professions in different countries
  • Communication, culturally related particularities
  • Integration obstacles for non-German origin staff
  • Cultural sensitivity – intercultural competence, what is it?
  • Creating an integration-friendly team environment – how to achieve it?
  • Exchange of experiences

Hygiene Officer for Hospital and Rehabilitation Facilities (Refresher)

Content
Hygiene officers play a crucial role in the implementation of statutory quality assurance, sharing responsibility for the optimal implementation of hygiene standards in their respective facilities. Their duty is to check, monitor and organise hygiene within their facilities. The increasingly challenging conditions in care facilities make the establishment of hygiene officers even more essential.
In order to update and deepen their own knowledge, regular training for hygiene officers is indispensable, as there are always new developments in hygiene such as changing microbiological hazards or new legal conditions. The obligation for regular further training is legally prescribed, not least to ensure staying up to date.
There are aids for practical implementation in everyday work and enough time for questions brought by participants.

Price
€ 200.99 (*incl. VAT)

Practice Instructor Refresher

Part 1 - The Power of Language

“The difference between the right word and the nearly right word is the same difference as between lightning and a glow-worm." (Mark Twain)

This seminar focuses on the importance and influence of language in everyday nursing. The use of words and communication techniques can have a substantial impact on the nature of the relationship with the trainee and the quality of the nursing process. How does language influence our thinking and actions? What communication techniques are helpful for successful nursing practice? And how can effective communication between practice guides and trainees be achieved?

Part 2 - The Walt Disney Method

On this seminar day, the participating practice guides deal with how learning can be initiated in practice. The practice guides learn various methods such as the Walt Disney method, "LENA" and the implementation possibilities with "SPASS". The training day is oriented towards the fact that people are generally seen as eager to learn. Adults, on the other hand, are critical learners and weigh up for which learning topics they invest their time and energy under which learning conditions... and this is exactly where the training starts.

Part 3 - Targeted Support in Instruction – Development of an educational diagnostic sheet

Every trainee comes with completely different prior competencies and conditions in nursing. You must create the prerequisites for him to meet the demands of complex nursing training. An important task in practice guidance is individual case help in the sense of improving learning and implementing new knowledge. To this end, it can be excellent support to pick up the learner where he is with a self-developed educational diagnostic form and to accompany him properly on his path of lifelong learning.

Methods

  • Theory-driven introduction with presentation
  • Group work using facility-specific templates and documentation materials
  • Results presentation with critical discussion and reflection

Dates

Part 1: Wednesday, 09.10.2024 from 09:00 – 16:00
